Who we are

ParcelMargin is an Australian-operated software service. Contact us at tim@parcelmargin.com.au with privacy questions or requests.

Information processed

When a merchant installs ParcelMargin, Shopify provides the shop identifier and an app access token. We store this authentication information securely to connect the app to the merchant’s Shopify store.

While the merchant uses the app, ParcelMargin reads recent order identifiers, shipping amounts, currencies, and fulfilment tracking numbers. It uses these values to compare shipping revenue with Australia Post charges. We do not request customer names, email addresses, postal addresses, or payment details.

Australia Post extracts

CSV and ZIP files selected in the current version are parsed in the merchant’s browser. Their contents are not uploaded to or stored by ParcelMargin’s servers. The results remain in the browser session and can be exported by the merchant.

Storage and service providers

Shopify authentication sessions are stored in Google Cloud Firestore. The application runs on Google Cloud Run. Google may process limited technical and diagnostic information to operate these services. We use access controls to restrict who can access authentication data.

Retention and deletion

Shopify authentication sessions are kept for up to 90 days after their last update. Sessions are also deleted when Shopify notifies us that the app was uninstalled or the shop should be redacted. An expired session requires the merchant to authorise the app again. We do not maintain a database of customer profiles or uploaded billing extracts.

Your choices and requests

Merchants can uninstall the app to revoke access. Shopify may forward customer access or deletion requests to us. Because the current app does not store customer-level records, there are normally no customer records for us to provide or erase. Contact tim@parcelmargin.com.au if you have a concern.

Changes

We may update this policy if our processing changes. We will publish the revised text with a new update date.
